Burning

Fire needs three things: something to burn, oxygen, and a temperature hot enough. Take any one away and it will not burn.

Three cups of different sizes. Which candle will go out first?

No flame touches them. Which will catch first?

There is a fire. How do we put it out?

A board to arrange

Each way of putting out a fire takes away one of the three. Which? Drag each into the right box.

Does burning make things vanish?

It is the fire you burnt above. A candle gets smaller as it burns, but steel wool gets heavier. Yet both have met oxygen in the same way. Put them on a balance and you will see.

A board to run

Switch between steel wool and a candle, and try burning them with a jar over the top.
